About 13-kilometer section of the Kiso River is sometimes called “Nihon Rhine” due to the similarity of the landscape to its German counterpart. This scenic section where a series of small cascades and pools as deep as 20 meters continue is designated as Hida-Kisogawa Quasi-National Park. Four cities and one town located along this Nihon Rhine, Inuyama of Aichi Pref. and Kagamihara, Kani, Minokamo and Sakahogi-cho of Gifu Pref. formed “Nihon Rhine” Film Commission Promotion Council to provide the related services.
This council covers rich nature and a wide variety of historical heritages: the national treasure Inuyama Castle and the open-air museum Meiji-mura in Inuyama City, the Aerospace Science Museum in Kagamihara City, Gifu Flower Festival Commemorative Park in Kani City, Ota-juku station of Nakasendo and Japan Showa Village park in Minokamo City, Kisogawa Romantic Kaido in Sakahogi-cho, and many, many more!
We are looking forward to your visit.
We at “Nihon Rhine” Film Commission Promotion Council provide wide range of support services beyond the prefectures. In addition, Inuyama City has a civil volunteer group called “Inuyama Location Service Team,” which makes the best use of the local people’s network to facilitate various needs.
